My research focuses on the relationships between science and religion in the 18th and 19th century, with a special interest in atomism and other theories of matter.
In my PhD thesis, "Les protestants et la matière. Atomisme et styles savants à Genève, XVIIe-XIXe siècles" (2024), I made the case that the 18th-century Geneva scientists worked with a specific "thought style" combining calvinist theology with atomistic philosophy.
My current project deals with the complex relationships between catholics and atomism in the 19th century and the emergence of a so-called "Catholic Science".
