Nidia Olvera (PhD, 2021, History, Mora Institute, Mexico) is a historian and anthropologist, specializing in the modern history of psychoactive substances and drug policies. She earned a bachelor's degree in ethnohistory at the National School of Anthropology and History and a master in social anthropology from the Center for Research and Higher Studies in Social Anthropology in Mexico City. She has experience like a professor in universities in Mexico, working on social research, consultancies and like a Project Coordinator at the United Nations on drug treatment programs. She is co-editor of the book "Sacred Plants in Mexico: Tradition, Religion and Ritual" and author of peer-reviewed articles in these topics. Currently she is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the project '"Poison, Medicine or Magic Potion'' in which analyses Psychoactive Plants and Cultural Heritage.
