My research focuses on understanding consciousness from the perspective of embodied theories of cognition. By relating developments in the philosophy of mind and biology to established philosophical question regarding consciousness, I look to underline the continuity between subjective experience and biological life in a language that bridges multiple traditions. Ultimately, I aim to relate these findings to the possibility of consciousness in modern AI, among which LLM's like ChatGPT. My promotor is Prof. Dr. Marc Slors, and my PhD project, titled "Beyond the Hard Problem: Consciousness, Function, and Life", is funded by the 2026 NWO "PhDs in the Humanities" grant.
