Floris Overduin studies ancient Greek literature from the Hellenistic and Imperial period. He has published on the aesthetics of the didactic poetry of Nicander, in addition to many minor didactic poets, such as Eudemus, Philo, Aglaias, Andromachus and Marcellus.

Another interest, the playful reception of Homer in later Greek literature, is reflected in many articles in Dutch, as well as in his publication of an annotated Dutch translation of Dio of Prusa's 11th oration, the 'Trojan Oration' (Damon, Eindhoven 2023).
