My expertise lies in European history in the early modern era, broadly defined as ranging from the late Middle Ages to High Industrialization. In my earlier work I have occupied myself with socio-economic questions, but recently I have broadened my scope to the history of age, touching upon cultural, political topics and the history of mentality.
