Tess Post is a PhD candidate at the Radboud University, and is working on a dissertation about milk in the Netherlands. By analysing a wide variety of sources, such as the many Dutch national dairy campaigns, she maps the mythology of milk. She questions the presumed normalcy of cow’s milk consumption, and considers milk as part of a colonial ontology. Milk operates at the nexus of intertwining tensions around the articulation of Dutch identity. Her research unites multiple themes, such as colonialism, gender, animality and nationalism.
Her PhD project is supervised by Prof. Dr. Lotte Jensen and Dr. László Munteán.
Tess received her bachelor’s in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Amsterdam University College (cum laude), and also studied for a semester at Univerzita Karlova in Prague. In 2021 she completed her research master in Comparative Literary Studies at Utrecht University (cum laude).
