Dr M.L. Rickert (Marie)

My research concerns interaction in education, with a specific focus on linguistically diverse contexts. I use Conversation Analysis and Linguistic Ethnography to research how students and teachers co-create classroom interaction, negotiate knowledge, and do the interactional work of education. My current interest concerns digital tools, particularly in L2 teaching and learning.
Besides, I have methodological interests in the co-creation of knowledge between researchers and participants in linguistic ethnography.

I find outreach to diverse audiences and knowledge valorization to be an important aspect of my academic work. To that end, I have e.g., developed a bilingual children's book for research communication (Zing je mee?/Singst du mit?) and regularly give talks to professional and general audiences.
