Dr J.P. van 't Riet (Jonathan)

Jonathan van 't Riet's interests are focused on 'persuasive communication': communication that aims to inlfuence and persuade the audience. He focuses especially on the role of emotions: How are emotions used in persuasive communication? For example, he recently performed a series of studies on the effects of anger expression in persuasive messages. In addition, he is interested in the use of new digital tools in persuasive communication, such as 'location-based advertising' and 'persuasive games'. With regards to teaching, Van 't Riet is involved in a number of courses in the area of methodology and statistics.
