Dr. Bodo Rueckauer is a postdoctoral researcher in the Artificial Cognitive Systems group with Prof. Marcel van Gerven. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in physics from ETH Zurich, and the Ph.D. in computational neuroscience from the University of Zurich. He was a research intern with Intel Labs and a consultant with Huawei Technologies. In his research, Dr. Rueckauer focuses on building efficient artificial systems using sparse activity-driven computation as present in the brain. To this end, he explores the principles of local learning in deep spiking neural networks. His work contributes to real-world applications with event-based vision sensors and neuromorphic processors.
