Catalin S. Rusu works as Associate Professor of European Law at Radboud University Nijmegen, where he lectures on EU Law, Economic Law, Competition Law, and EU Internal Market Law, at bachelor and master levels. He is also Visiting Professor of European Economic Law at University of Parma and Visiting Professor of European Competition Law at 'Babes-Bolyai' University, Cluj Napoca. Catalin is a member of several academic and professional associations, such as ASCOLA, CLaSF, and the Dutch Associations for European Law and Competition Law. In 2017/2018 Catalin acted as Non-Governmental Advisor for the European Commission in the International Competition Network. He also regularly provides advice on matters of (EU) Competition Law.

Catalin performs research at the Radboud Research Centre of State and Law (STeR). He focuses on the dynamic role that EU Competition Law & Policy play in the Internal Market, the manner in which antitrust regulation adapts to the requirements of modern law-making, and the distinct approaches to Competition Law enforcement in different (European) jurisdictions. Catalin co-founded the yearly Radboud Economic Law Conference and manages the Radboud Economic Law Blog (check www.ru.nl/law/relc).

Catalin studied law at ‘Babes-Bolyai' University, Cluj Napoca, at the International Faculty of Comparative Law, Strasbourg, and at Utrecht University. He obtained his PhD degree in 2009 (Utrecht University) after publishing his research findings in the field of EU Merger Control.
