I am a neuroscientist interested in how internal states like sleep and external social experiences shape memory. During my PhD at the University of Groningen, I investigated how sleep deprivation disrupts long-term social memory in mice, and how the presence of others alters sleep in fruit flies. This work combined behavioural paradigms, optogenetics, automated tracking, and immunohistochemistry across multiple model organisms to explore the circuit and molecular basis of memory.

As a postdoctoral researcher at Radboud University, I study how the cortex acquires semantic memories in multi-trial learning paradigms. I use behavioural tasks like the object space paradigm alongside chemogenetic tools and imaging techniques to label and manipulate memory-related neural ensembles. My broader goal is to understand how experience is integrated over time by neural circuits to form lasting, meaningful memories.
