M. van 't Schip (Mattis)

Mattis van 't Schip works as a postdoctoral researcher at iHub. His research project focuses on the legal framework of European Digital Identity Wallets.

Mattis also conducted his PhD research at iHub, which focused on legal cybersecurity obligations for devices within the "Internet of Things" industry. Therein, he focuses on legal aspects of consumer protection, cybersecurity, and privacy and data protection.

Mattis obtained both his LL.B. in IT Law and LL.M. degree in Legal Research (cum laude) at the University of Groningen. During his Master's, he also studied at the George Washington University in Washington D.C., USA for a semester. Before joining iHub, Mattis worked as a junior researcher at the University of Groningen and as a privacy and cybersecurity consultant.
