I am an experimental economist. I am interested in why economic actors forgo monetary benefits and behave pro-socially. In my research, I study social preferences in different (financial) market environments. In particular, I study pro-social behavior in differing economic conditions (e.g., economic uncertainty and economic inequality) and decision making contexts (financial markets, charitable giving, tax evasion, or environmental decision making). Moreover, I am interested in studying how behavioral economic nudges can be used to increase pro-social behavior in different economic settings.
