Viola's research interests center on educational psychology, with a focus on primary school students' well-being and computational thinking in education. Her work aims to enhance the learning experiences of primary school children and contribute to their well-being.

Viola earned her research master's degree in Individual Differences and Assessment (Psychology) from Tilburg University. Her master’s thesis, titled "Exploring the Role of Talents in Action in Children's Quality of Life and Academic Success," was part of a larger project on talent program interventions for primary school children.

Driven by her passion for preparing primary school students for the challenges of modern society, Viola began her PhD at Radboud University. She is currently working on an NRO-funded project, collaborating with Jo van Schaik, Noortje Janssen, and Ard Lazonder to explore how primary students can transfer computational thinking skills from programming to other subjects, such as mathematics.
