Dr T.M.J. Sintobin (Tom)

Tom Sintobin is a scholar from literary and tourism studies and a member of the research group Intercultural Dynamics (ID). His research interests include:
- literature in Dutch 1890-1983 (Stijn Streuvels, Hugo Claus, Louis Paul Boon)
- transnational aspects of regional culture
- culture and representations of coastal villages (esp. Ostend and Scheveningen)
- the representation of great technological works
- tavel literature from a gender perspective
- cultural soil studies (focusing on peat and bog)
- identity politics of tourists and influencers from a diachronical perspective
