Rosanne Sluiter is an educational researcher at Radboud University, focusing on learning and instruction in primary education. Her current research centers on computational thinking: she develops and evaluates the assessment of a lesson series in which primary school pupils learn to program. She investigates how children can apply these skills to new programming and mathematics tasks, and what forms of support promote this transfer. The results contribute to effective CT instruction within the revised national curriculum.
Rosanne combines her interest in learning with attention to children's social and pedagogical development. Previously, she conducted PhD research on the role of early childhood educators in supporting the development of young children in early childhood education and care. Her broad background in pedagogy and educational research enables her to study classroom learning as an interplay of cognitive, social, and instructional factors. She enjoys working at the intersection of research and practice, aiming to align primary education more closely with children’s development.
