Armand Smits is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Change and Design at Radboud University, where he also earned his Ph.D. He was previously affiliated with Maastricht University and Eindhoven University of Technology.
His research examines how organizations and interorganizational collaborations create, implement, and sustain innovations in products, organizing, and work. Focusing on complex pathways of organizational change, he investigates how configurations of resources, structures, practices, and relationships enable these innovations to emerge and become embedded. His research combines in-depth case studies, tracing processes, and configurational methods such as fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) across contexts including manufacturing, professional services, and social enterprises.
