Prof. J. Spijker (Jan)

Jan Spijker, MD, PhD is extra-ordinary professor at the Radboud University on chronic depression. He is a psychiatrist at the Expert Center Depression of Pro Persona Mental Health Care, Nijmegen. His research is focussed on the epidemiology, origins and treatment of chronic, treatment resistant depression. His research group performs RCT’s into augmentation therapy for (chronic, treatment resistant) depression. He contributed to more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed psychiatric journals. He is chair of the committee for the update of the multidisciplinary guideline Depression and vice-chair National audit Commitee on Mental Health Centres of Excellence (TOPGGZ).
