Marie-Anne van Stam is a behavioural scientist, her mostly quantitative research is focused on how people make health related decisions. For example, decisions concerning treatments, vaccination, or the use of contraceptives.
Questions that relate to her work are: “How to optimize professional-patient communication about health related decisions?”; “How to optimize the involvement of patients in treatment decisions?”(Shared decision making); and “How can we use Patient Reported Outcome and Experience Measures (PROMs and PREMs), and physical/clinical outcome measures (e.g. data from electronic health records, wearables, or community health monitors) to improve health related decision making processes?”.
