Martyna Stećko is a PhD Candidate at the department of International and European Law. Her research focuses on European External Climate Action through trade agreements in developing countries. She is also involved in teaching activities in both European and International law, and is part of the Sustainability & Public Law PhD research group and Critical Perspectives Think Tank.

Martyna obtained her LLB in Scottish Law, English Law and European Legal Studies (First Class Honours) at the University of Aberdeen. One year of her Bachelor degree was also spent at Maastricht University, where she followed the ELS programme. Martyna further obtained her LLM in Law and Sustainability in Europe at Utrecht University. During that time, she developed a particular interest for critical approaches to international law, North-South dynamics and the role of the EU as an international trade actor, which she explored in her master thesis.
