My PhD project revolves around phylogenetic and ontogenetic aspects of dendritic signal processing in induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neural networks.

Dendrites continuously integrate a huge number of synaptic inputs in complex, meaningful ways that mediate perception, cognition, and behavior. Although recent decades have yielded a detailed characterization of dendritic signal processing in certain animal models, such studies are novel for human dendrites.

Together with my supervisors, I focus on the development of human dendritic signal processing and its relation to other primates.
