Dr. Tejedor-García is an assistant professor at the Department of Language and Communication (TenC) and Centre for Language Studies (CLS) at Radboud University, who specialises in automatic speech recognition and speech-based AI.
Cristian is the project leader of the five-year NWO-funded "Responsible AI for Voice Diagnostics" (RAIVD) project. This project comprises six PhD subprojects focusing on data minimization, explainable AI, responsible AI, and data-centric AI. These subprojects delve into two main topics: reading diagnostics and pronunciation assessment, and early and differential diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
Through collaborations with educators, linguists, and medical experts, Cristian has gained a profound understanding of ethical and privacy considerations for interactive systems and data collection. His commitment to responsible AI in education and healthcare underscores his aim to create a real-world impact in these domains.
Dr. Tejedor-García holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (2020, Cum Laude & International Mention) from the University of Valladolid, Spain. During his PhD, he carried out research at the Centre of Excellence in Educational Innovation at the University of Tallinn (Tallinn, Estonia) and the Department of Spanish Philology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain). After graduation, he joined the Centre for Language and Speech Technology (CLST) as a postdoc during three years under the Language and Speech, Learning and Therapy (LSLT) research group.
