Dr. Tejedor-García is an assistant professor at the Department of Language and Communication (TenC) and Centre for Language Studies (CLS) at Radboud University, who specialises in automatic speech recognition and speech-based Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Cristian is currently the project leader of the five-year NWO-funded "Responsible AI for Voice Diagnostics" (RAIVD) project (2025-2028). This project comprises six PhD subprojects focusing on data minimization, explainable AI, responsible AI, and data-centric AI. These subprojects delve into two main topics: reading diagnostics and pronunciation assessment, and early and differential diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. A key component of the project is the exploration and integration of Speech Large Language Models (Speech LLMs) to enhance the accuracy, interpretability, and fairness of voice-based diagnostic systems.
Through collaborations with educators, linguists, and medical experts, Cristian demonstrates a profound understanding of ethical and privacy considerations for interactive systems and data collection. His commitment to responsible AI in education and healthcare emphasizes his aim to create a real-world impact in these domains.
