J.P. Tesorio (Jofelle) MSc

Jofelle has conducted research on social impact of development projects, labour and irregular migrants, and South-South migration, where she investigated the movement of Filipino professionals to Thailand and Indian professionals to the Philippines. Recently, she has been conducting empirical research on Ukrainian refugees resettled in depopulating areas of the Netherlands. She studies support initiatives provided to displaced Ukrainians and their daily emplacement processes. Her research aims to contribute to the growing literature on the effects and contributions of migrants outside of cities, as well as lessons learned from the arrival of Ukrainians in their host countries in the longstanding debate on migration inclusion and governance.
