I'm currently working on modelling complex systems. Complex systems consist of many components that interact with each other. Even though these components may be simple, the full system may be difficult to model due to dependency-based emergent properties. Thus, instead of capturing these from the bottom up, I aim to leverage recent advances in deep learning by enriching existing (hand-crafted) models with a data-driven description of the systems’ emergent properties.
