Alanna Tibbs is a PhD candidate supervised by Amalia Arvaniti and researcher in SPRINT (Speech Prosody in Interaction; ERC ADG-835263) at Radboud University in the Netherlands. Beforehand, she attended the University of York where she first completed her BA in Linguistics and later an Msc in Forensic Phonetics. This was also when she became a member of IAFPA (International Association of Forensic Phonetics and Accoustics). Previously her work revolved around socio-linguistics, British dialectology and intra-speaker variation, but now her focus is also on intonational phonology. Currently she is working on her PhD investigating Uptalk (alternatively known as "High-Rising-Terminal") and its presence, production and perception in the UK.
