Prof. M.K.G. Tjepkema (Michiel)

Michiel Tjepkema has been professor of administrative law at Radboud University and department chair of the administrative law section since January 1, 2024. He publishes on general administrative law, with an emphasis on dispute resolution and compensation law. He obtained his PhD cum laude in 2010 with a thesis on disadvantage compensation at Leiden University and has published extensively on administrative compensation law in a broad sense. In 2018, he transferred to the Council of State, where he headed the scientific office of the Administrative Jurisdiction Directorate ('knowledge unit').

In addition to his 0.8 FTE appointment at Radboud University, Michiel also works for 0.2 FTE as a professor of mining damage and government liability at the Open University.
