In the field of cognitive neuropsychology, my research is aimed at understanding individual differences in cognitive aging and rehabilitation. During my PhD trajectory at the University of Amsterdam I studied cognitive aging in autism. Currently, at the Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology Department at Radboud University, I focus on individual differences in cognitive reserve and their impact on cognitive aging. These individual differences are also crucial in a rehabilitation setting. Why do people show such vastly different trajectories in their recovery? And, can we improve their outcomes by precision care? Within this field, my research is mainly focused on cognitive strategies, social cognition, and cognitive reserve. Last but not least, I have a deep interest in method and statistics. Open science is of great importance to me and I often use Bayesian statistics to strengthen the robustness of my results. I also enjoy expanding my statistical knowledge by learning and applying new methods such as multivariate normative comparisons, multilevel analyses, regression trees, structural equation modeling, and network analyses.
