I’m the Coordinator of the Radboud Center for Sustainability Challenges (RCSC), embedded within the Environmental Governance and Politics chair group at the Faculty of Management. I have a broad interdisciplinary background in the natural and social sciences, having completed my PhD in Neuroscience (McGill University, 2018), and with postdoctoral and societal work in health capacity building, sustainable diets, food systems, complex transitions studies and futuring for sustainability. Before joining Radboud I was a postdoctoral researcher with the Pathways to Sustainability and Urban Futures Studio groups at Utrecht University, where I studied and mapped innovative and beyond-the-status quo ways that some universities worldwide are transitioning to address the climate crisis and sustainability. We built an Atlas of Sustainable Universities, which you can browse at futureatlas.university
I am driven to both understand and change complex systems – including the university! - in a way that centers justice for all human and non-human life on earth. As coordinator of the RCSC I hope to facilitate and bridge sustainability discussions and agenda setting - not only across faculties and disciplines, but across different ways of seeing human relations with the natural world. I see the RCSC as a driver and connector of transformative research and education at Radboud towards more effective ways through – and out of - the climate crisis.
