Prof. J.A. Veltman (Joris)

Principal investigator - Donders Center of Medical Neurosciences
Principal investigator - Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour

Professor Veltman focuses on the development and application of genomics technologies and bioinformatics methods in clinical practice. In addition to the development and improvement of diagnostic tests, it also involves genetic tests that provide insight into the risk of age-related diseases, predict response to treatment (pharmacogenomics) and pre-conceptual testing for carriers of recessive disorders. His research focuses on unraveling the genetic causes of intellectual disability and rare syndromes. In particular, he studies the role of spontaneous mutations by comparing genomic material from affected children with their healthy parents.
