Prof. H.L.E. Verhagen (Rick)

Professor Hendrik (Rick) Verhagen researches the interactions between law and economy (finance), both diachronically (Roman law) and synchronically (comparative law, private international law). In his research he employs analytical tools borrowed from social systems theory (Luhmann), social evolutionary theory and law and economics. Rick has published widely on the historical, comparative and private international law aspects of a variety of subjects, including secured transactions, assignment of receivables, agency, trusts, contracts and unjust enrichment.
