Mark Visser is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Radboud University (Nijmegen, the Netherlands). He is the chair of the program committee of the BA and MA Sociology and a member of the management team of the Department of Sociology. He is also a Netspar Fellow and a consulting editor for the reputed journal Work, Aging and Retirement.
His research interests include older workers and retirement, social capital, social inequality, (radical) voting behavior and the welfare state. He studies these topics cross-nationally and by applying a life course perspective.
