Dr E.G.A. van der Werf (Edsard)

Edsard van der Werf studied both History and Law at the University of Groningen. He subsequently completed a Master’s degree in Constitutional and Administrative Law at the University of Amsterdam. He graduated from both law programs with the distinction 'cum laude'. During his student years, Edsard served, among other roles, as a board member of the Rechtswinkel Groningen and completed several internships at leading law firms in Amsterdam.

Since 2017, Edsard has been affiliated with the Nijmegen Faculty of Law and the State & Law research center (SteR). In 2025, he obtained his PhD with a dissertation on the application of the societal duty of care standard to the government.
