I am pursuing two research trajectories focused on the beneficial effect of choice on learning and memory. On one hand, I focus on investigating how this choice effect on memory is modulated by the predictability of choice outcomes. On the other hand, I also study how cultural and educational backgrounds shape learning motivation, like how autonomy or external rewards improve learning. I use behavioral measurements and fMRI to investigate both of these research questions, and I am trying to combine them with computational modeling.
