Pim Haselager is Professor of Societal Implications of Artificial Intelligence at Radboud University’s Faculty of Social Sciences. He is also affiliated with the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour.

“The responsible application of AI requires constructive ethics that must be developed early on in the process. Social expectations and concerns can also play an important role in the research and development phase of technology.”

“Topics such as human-robot interaction, decision support machines, chatbots, and direct communication between brain and computer require social discussion on the development and use of technology. This is one of the reasons why I want to work on strengthening the connections between AI, cognitive neuroscience, philosophy and psychology, and society.”
