Preparatory HBO Minor

If you don’t meet the admission requirements, there are various pathways to gain access to the Master's in Intersectional Gender Studies.

About this study curriculum

The preparatory HBO minor in Intersectional Gender Studies consist of a selection of content-based courses and courses focused on academic and research skills. This study programme provides foundational knowledge in Intersectional Gender Studies to prepare you for admission to the Master's programme. The courses are taken alongside Bachelor's students from various disciplines. Upon completing the preparatory minor, you will receive a certificate (not a Bachelor's degree) that includes an overview of the completed courses. The preparatory minor depends on your previous education.

  • Are you currently a University of Applied Sciences (HBO) student? After completing the preparatory 30-EC HBO minor, you are admissible to the Master's in Intersectional Gender Studies. This preparatory minor provides a smooth transition from Applied Sciences to University education. Registration and enrollment for the preparatory HBO minor are handled through 'Kies op Maat'. 

  • Are you currently a University of Applied Sciences (HBO) student who already earned 20 ECs in Research University (WO) courses from the field of Gender & Diversity Studies, Sexuality Studies, Disability Studies, Postcolonial and Decolonial Studies, Migration Studies, or a similar curriculum? After completing a short 7-EC HBO minor that includes academic skills and intersectional research skills, you are admissible to the Master's in Intersectional Gender Studies.
