Radboud University and Maastricht University have signed an agreement for 2022 with the aim of strengthening mutual cooperation and increasing the joint scientific and social impact in the Southeast Netherlands region. This project plan provides for three complementary sub-projects concerning heritage that directly affect education, research and the general public: the Special Collections Fellowship (I), the Linked Open Data Training Programme/Knowledge Centre (II) and Open Masterpieces (III). Both universities are involved, both the faculty and the university library. Radboud University is the lead partner and will also be responsible for reporting on behalf of both parties. The three new heritage projects will take the existing collaboration to a higher level and lay a stable foundation for future collaborations, for example by jointly developing innovative heritage technology (Open Masterpieces Project) or by generating vital knowledge about the complementarity of the two Special Collections (Fellowship Project).
