Radboud University collaborates with vocational, higher professional and university education institutions in the National Growth Fund Programme Npuls, so that learners can learn without barriers and receive the best education throughout their studies.

Centres for Teaching and Learning

In 2025, the Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre received a grant of €500,000 to expand the TLC, work on the digital skills of lecturers and students, and strengthen the TLC's networking function. The Npuls grant application was drawn up jointly with Maastricht University and the Open University, with the aim of establishing sustainable cooperation through a regional partnership of Teaching and Learning Centres in the south-east of the Netherlands. In addition, the TLC works locally with HAN University of Applied Sciences and ROC Nijmegen. The project aims to increase the quality and flexibility of education by 2027 through collaboration between institutions and to demonstrably strengthen the digital skills of both teachers and students.

Microcredentials

Microcredentialing – offering smaller, separately certified educational units – reinforces barrier-free learning and gives institutions' lifelong development programmes more recognisable value. At Radboud University, the microcredential is issued in the form of an edubadge: a visual digital certificate of learning achievement.

Open Up

The GO OPEN-project encourages the sharing and reuse of (self-developed) digital learning materials at Radboud University in order to improve the quality of education and save time for lecturers. It focuses on increasing knowledge about Open Educational Resources (OER) and expanding professional communities in which these materials are shared. The project aims to ensure that all lecturers are familiar with OER by the end of August 2027, that the number of shared materials grows, and that cooperation between institutions is strengthened.

EduGenAI

EduGenAI is a Dutch collaboration platform that focuses on the safe and responsible use of generative AI in further education.

EduGenAI is currently in the pilot phase. In this phase, Dutch institutions are given the opportunity to experiment with EduGenAI in a responsible manner. At the same time, we are jointly investigating the wishes and needs with a view to the further development of the future EduGenAI platform. The pilot phase will run until the summer of 2026.

Get Connected

Get Connected is Npuls' incentive scheme for vocational colleges, universities of applied sciences and universities that want to work with digital sector facilities. Get Connected is built around three pillars:

Unlocking educational opportunities
Sharing and (re)using digital and open learning materials
More control over your own learning and development path

Radboud University has submitted an approved application under pillar 3 to conduct a pilot with EduID. EduID is one of the sector facilities developed by Npuls to support barrier-free learning. With this pilot, Radboud University is exploring the impact of EduID on existing applications in preparation for possible future deployment.

Funding

These initiatives are supported by Npuls through various incentive schemes. With these schemes, Npuls promotes cooperation between vocational, higher professional and university institutions on future-proof education. The support consists of financial resources, guidance and knowledge sharing and is aimed at strengthening cooperation between institutions and partners. Npuls is the National Growth Fund Programme of and for all public vocational colleges, universities of applied sciences and universities in the Netherlands.

The Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre is co-funded by the Npuls Growth Fund Programme and the European Recovery and Resilience Plan (HVP). The award of the Npuls grant of €500,000 will help the TLC to strengthen innovation and digital skills within the university.
