SIG Education for Sustainability

What is the role of the university in empowering learners and teachers to take informed decisions and responsible action in a changing, uncertain, and complex world? How can the university contribute and promote development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs?

It is key to take our responsibility as a higher education institution to nurture sustainable development. There is a momentum for sustainability at our university and we want to bring together all the people who are interested in and working on the topic. Staff and students need to develop ideas and competences that are highly relevant to today’s society, our environment, and the economy.

Goal of the SIG

This SIG will provide the space and the place to join forces, share ideas, projects, ambitions, and connect with each other in a community of practice. We would like to invite you to join one or both of our first two kick-off meetings in March and April.

You can join one or both dates, what matters is that we come together and start off this initiative. The first two meetings are getting to know each other and sharing our work on sustainability and from there on we will co-create the program for subsequent meetings.

Meetings

  • Thursday, 9th of March 3:00-4:30 pm.
  • Tuesday, 11th of April 3:00-4:30 pm.

Location

Thomas van Aquinostraat 1, room 00.36 (Docentenlounge Teaching and Learning Centre)
