That’s why I force myself to consciously learn something new every year. This spring, I improved my English proficiency by taking the Cambridge C2 Proficiency course. Thanks to a native-speaking and seasoned trainer, I expanded my vocabulary in 15 weeks and I now communicate in English with greater fluency. It was precisely what I needed. In my work, I design, lead and moderate training programmes. To this end, I have intensive contact with scientists and professionals whose first language is not always Dutch. And in these conversations, I suddenly discovered how enjoyable it was to achieve more with less difficulty!

Sometimes, this happens unconsciously, and you end up in situations that are new, complex and challenging and you suddenly experience your growth as a person. Sometimes, you very deliberately pursue the next challenge and keep yourself sharp by following an educational or training programme.
