What are you going to learn?
The Clinical Psychologist programme is a four-year dual programme that you can take if you are a registered GZ psychologist. The programme has two differentiations:
- Children & Youth (K&J)
- Adults & Elderly (V&O).
At Radboud University, you can follow the V&O programme; the full 4-year variant and the abbreviated, 3-year variant. For information on the KP course K&J, please contact the RINOGroep in Utrecht.
You will be trained as a specialist with initiative and expertise. You will learn to take responsibility for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with serious, complex and/or chronic disorders, including those for which there are no known solutions. These are often patients in whom standard psychological or psychotherapeutic treatments fail. Knowledge, willingness to develop, decisiveness, tact and a broad human perspective are core values both expected of trainees and further encouraged in training.
Upon completion of this course:
- You are an up-to-date and state-of-the-art specialist in diagnostics, treatment and management strategy within the field of clinical psychology;
- You have had a thorough clinical-scientific education and have developed a self-confident reflective and decisive professional;
- You may call yourself a clinical psychologist and enjoy the legal protection associated with that professional title;
- You are fully qualified to perform psychotherapies:
- You can register with your degree in the specialists' register of the FGzPt, the Federation of Health Care Psychologists and Psychotherapists.
