What are you going to learn?
The course to become an Orthopedagoog Generalist takes two years and consists of a modular programme, projects and practical learning. We kick off the programme with a start conference to introduce you to the programme. During the kick-off conference, you, the other participants and your practical trainer will orientate you to the various projects and inspire you with examples of practical projects. Together with other participants, you will form a project group for the chain and domain project and choose one or more projects whose assignments are chosen from practice or science. The various work fields (education, care for people with disabilities, youth care and specialist care (care for the elderly)) are represented in this.
An important part of the training takes place in practice at an accredited practical training institution. Central to this is learning and working in one's own practice and reflecting on it.
Upon completion of this course you can:
- Provide effective care and advice for the client and his or her living environment;
- Function as a spider in the web at various levels connecting natural and professional resources and as an individual with the client;
- Assess responsibly and evidence-based whether an individual can develop on their own and within their own learning environment or whether professional care and or substitute solutions are needed;
- Powerfully take your role and be clearly visible and dare to act on a mission;
- Directly contribute yourself to a better connection between education, care and the own living environment of children or (young) adults in a dependency relationship.
- Get yourself listed in the BIG and NVO register. This gives you a BIG registration.
