On signals of underachievement in tests. Have you seen it or just watched it?

Dr Sven Mathijssen regularly takes you into the world of giftedness and science through an inspiration session.

In today's Western society, people are regularly tested in their lives. This already starts in nurseries and continues in school, careers and even later in (private) life. Tests provide insights into competences in different areas - or at least they should. So how is it that specific talents of people are not always reflected in (academic) performance? Can we as professionals in education and care then see something that a test apparently cannot? And if so, what should we look for when we test someone's knowledge and skills? This presentation will discuss possible signs of underachievement in testing and use practical examples to provide tools to help you look beyond performance expressed in scores.
