Connection between Master in Global Challenges and practice

The survey of alumni who have participated in the post-initial Master's programme in Global Challenges since its inception in 1998 shows that the programme effectively prepares students for the professional world. Alumni rate the programme with a score of 8.2. They particularly mention work experience (93%), relevant skills (82%) and the professional network (80%) as added value. 69% still work in the (international) development sector, mainly at NGOs (44%) and government institutions (17%). Career advancement is also evident: 43% hold managerial positions. In addition, the gender pay gap will be closed for the first time in 2025. Important themes such as gender and inclusion, power relations, climate change and AI are already part of the current curriculum. Evidence-based policy work is considered a core skill and, according to alumni, deserves even more attention in the programme.
