"The areas of social-emotional skills development, striving for excellence, as well as the development of a creative way of thinking have been important topics in my professional and private life for many years. During my work at the center of excellence, I saw the importance of designing a good and applicable model for the identification of potentially gifted students.
Personally and professionally, I can relate well to the need to recognize and provide appropriate support to twice exceptional students as soon as possible. Designing extracurricular programmes is also something that encourages me to research examples of good programmes. I also enjoy being in the role of a teacher because in this way I can contribute not only to the students' knowledge acquisition, but also support them in their professional and personal development. The international dimension is particularly interesting to me because it gives me the opportunity to see the similarities and differences in approaches that come from different cultures and environment challenges. Since I work in a school as a psychologist, contact with RITHA students and lecturers too from other professions and from other working levels of education, enriches my understanding of giftedness, related problems and needs they face.
RITHA gently pushes students to think critically about both theory and practice with a lot of support from teachers. From my experience, I am very happy that I can say that in RITHA it is important to see students as individual persons with their different strengths, interests and learning path. The programme is broad and can help students to find different things in fields that interest them. What I want to pass on to others is enthusiasm for supporting and understanding gifted students of all kinds.
From both roles as RITHA student and lecturer I can say that becoming a part of that learning community was a wise, brave and somehow positive life changing decision for me. It helps me both to develop a lot of skills (using language too) and grow knowledge. I met new interesting people and developed a close friendship with some of them."
