Content and structure
The training course consists of two interactive 4-hour sessions. You’ll gain practical insights, learn specific conversation techniques and have plenty of opportunity to practise. We’ll work with situations from your own professional experience, so you can apply what you’ve learnt straight away, at work, but also in your personal life.
Session 1: The basis of constructive discussions
In the first session, you’ll lay the foundations for open and safe communication. You’ll learn how to listen more effectively, receive feedback, and deal constructively with tension in conversations.
Topics:
- Creating psychological safety
- Listening without judgement
- Stress reactions during conversations
- Receiving feedback
- Giving feedback and expressing needs
- Asking for feedback
Session 2: Practising real-life conversations
In this session, we’ll bring everything together in realistic practice scenarios. Together with an experienced role-play trainer, you can practise conversations that are important to you.
New themes are:
- Setting boundaries
- Recognising and influencing potentially difficult interaction patterns
We work with scripted scenes and experiment with different approaches. For those who wish, there is an opportunity to try out your own case study with the actor. This helps you discover what works for you and boosts your confidence to apply what you’ve learnt in your own practice.

- You will have a better understanding of your own communication and conflict management style, as well as that of others.

Please contact our Tailor-made Department to discuss your needs. during an intake interview, we will determine what is desirable and feasible and we will discuss the approach and design of our offer, from a coaching programme to a short workshop or multi-day course. The course can take place in a small group with your team or department, but also one-on-one. Courses take place at our premises or in-company. In some cases, some or all of the course can also take place online. After the intake interview, you will receive an offer with a tailor-made programme.
