Group A
This course takes place from 22 September 2025 until 15 January 2026.
Class day and time: Mondays and Thursdays from 10.45 am - 12.30 pm *
Location: On campus in Nijmegen
Number of participants: max. 18
Group B - Online
This course takes place from 23 September 2025 until 15 January 2026.
Class day and time: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3.15 - 5.00 pm *

Group D
This course takes place from 22 September 2025 until 14 January 2026.
Class day and time: Mondays and Wednesdays from 5.45 - 7.30 pm
Location: On campus in Nijmegen
Number of participants: max. 18
You should count on about 8 to 10 hours of individual study per week. There is no class in the week of 13 October because of the Autumn break and there is no class in the weeks of 22 and 29 December because of the Christmas break. If a lesson is cancelled, the catch-up lesson will take place in week 4.

What will you learn in this course?
You will learn Dutch to A2 level in this beginners II course. This class focuses on the different skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing. Reading and writing skills are mostly practiced in the time allotted for self-study. Dutch is spoken as much as possible during classes.
Reading
You can read short, simple texts. You can find specific, predictable information in simple, everyday texts like advertisements, menus and timetables and you can understand short, simple, personal letters.
Listening
You can understand sentences and the most frequent words related to areas of immediate personal interest (e.g. basic information about yourself and family, shopping, local geography, work). You can follow the main points of short, clear simple messages and announcements.
Speaking
You can communicate when performing simple, everyday tasks that involve a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities. You can handle very short social conversations even if you do not always understand enough to keep the conversation going independently. You can use a variety of phrases and sentences to describe your family and other people, living conditions, your education and your current or most recent job using simple terms.
Writing
You can write short, simple notes and messages that relate to immediate needs. You can write very simple personal letters, to thank people for things, for example.
