Group A
This course takes place from 23 February until 10 June 2026.

Class day and time: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3.15 - 5.00 pm *

Group C
This course takes place from 23 February until 10 June 2026.

Group D - online
This course takes place from 23 February until 15 June 2026.

Self-study and holidays
Expect to spend about 8 to 10 hours per week on individual study.
There is no class in the week of 27 April and 4 May because of the holidays. If a lesson is cancelled, the catch-up lesson will take place in the week of 8 or 15 June.
Exam dates
- Exam: week 26 (22-28 June)
- Resit: week 27 (29 June-5 July)
Please note: you may only participate in the assessment, if you have attended at least 80% of the classes.
What will you learn in this course?
You will learn Dutch to intermediate level B1 in this intermediate course. This class focuses on the different skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing. Dutch is spoken as much as possible during classes.
Reading
You can understand texts that mainly consist of high-frequency, colloquial or work-related language. You can understand descriptions of events, feelings and wishes in personal letters.
Listening
You can understand the main points when listening to familiar topics that you regularly encounter at work, school, leisure, etc. when these are clearly spoken and pronounced in a standard dialect. You can understand the main points of many radio or TV programmes on current affairs or topics of personal or professional interest, when speakers speak relatively slowly and clearly.
Conversations and speaking
You can handle most situations that you come across when travelling in an area where the target language is spoken. You can participate in conversations on familiar topics or topics of personal interest or related to everyday life without preparation (e.g. family, hobbies, work, travel and current events).
You can connect expressions in a simple way to describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions. You can briefly give reasons and explanations for your opinions and plans. You can tell a story, or describe the plot of a book or film and describe your reactions.
Writing
You can write simple coherent texts on familiar topics or topics of personal interest. You can write personal letters describing your experiences and impressions.
