English course for intermediate students (B1) – Cambridge Preliminary

Do you find it difficult to express yourself while travelling, at work, at school or in your free time? In this course, you will build your basic English skills so you can communicate fluently in everyday situations and read and write simple texts.

    General

    In this English course for intermediate students, you will learn to speak, write, read and listen more effectively and with more confidence in English at B1 level. You will expand your vocabulary and build the foundations for good grammar, by working on verb tenses and sentence structure, for example.

    After this English course, you will be able to:

    • Handle most situations that occur in English-speaking environments well, such as when travelling. You can enter into conversations on familiar topics without preparation, for example about your family, hobbies, work, travel, the weather or the news;
    • Speak clearly about experiences and past events, your dreams and ambitions. You can give short and clear explanations and substantiate your opinions. You will also be able to tell stories, summarise books and films and give your opinion on them;
    • Understand key points in simple, everyday conversations at work, school or during leisure activities;
    • Mostly follow TV and radio programmes on current events or topics that interest you;
    • Read texts written in everyday or work-related language with ease. You can understand descriptions of events, feelings and desires;
    • Write simple, coherent texts on familiar topics. You can write formal and informal emails, short stories and articles.
