    Approach and content

    Session 1: Introduction to inclusiveness

What is inclusion and what are its key aspects? This session will introduce you to the diversity cycle and the various aspects of diversity. We will reflect on cultural awareness and the six skills that are required for inclusive communication. In this module, you will experience the impact of your own assumptions and behaviour within a diverse, intercultural organisation. You will become more aware of situations in which diversity can play a role, and gain a deeper understanding of cultural impact. By the end of this session, you will have a set of practical tools, ideas, measures and other means that you will be able to implement as soon as you are back at work.

    Session 2: Giving inclusive feedback

During this session, we will reflect on unconscious biases: what are they, how do they affect our views of others and what does this mean for interacting? You will also gain insight into different strategies that pertain to feedback. This will allow you to interpret feedback in the way it is intended, and adjust your own feedback to the recipient. In turn, this will enable you to provide appropriate feedback to a culturally diverse team or working group in a way that will benefit everyone.

    Session 3: Inclusive language

If you want everyone to feel included, and you want your message to really get through, it is vital that you use inclusive language. This means language people understand and it makes no difference to anyone if it is irrelevant. This workshop will teach you about the pitfalls and what you need to take into account to make sure that your text does not exclude people.
