Language course Dutch Sign Language for beginners (A1)

Do you work with people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, or do you know anyone who is deaf or hard-of-hearing who you would like to learn to communicate better with? The Dutch Sign Language Basic Skills course helps you improve your ability to communicate with people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. You can take part in this course as a follow-up to the Dutch Sign Language halfway to A1 course or if you already have some knowledge of sign language. This course further explores topics already covered in the halfway to A1 course, and pays more attention to facial expressions and body language.

    General

The Dutch Sign Language for beginners course focuses on visual communication. Using expressive facial expressions and the space around you both help to make yourself understood without speech in a range of situations. In this course, you will continue to learn the lexicon and grammar of Dutch Sign Language, the language of the deaf community in the Netherlands.
